Do you have a convention report for this appearance? If so, please email webmaster@connortrinneer.com!

Hey everybody!!! Here is my official, first time experience ever, convention report:

WWWOOOOOOOOOOOHHH, WHHHHHOOOOOOO!!! YEEEAAAAAAHHH!!!!

It was a humble little convention in Grand Slam standards, but it was fantastic and pretty intimate because there weren't hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people there.

I went Sunday only, DARN! So I missed Anthony Montgomery, but I am holding out hopes for next year since he is from Indiana. I DID meet James Horan who played in STNG as Jo'Bril in "Suspicions"and a lizard-like alien named Takaran. (The guy Dr. Crusher blasts away in the climax.) He also played Lt. Barnaby who takes over Worf's position in "Descent, Part II". He was in Voyager as an intergalactic drug runner named, Tosin, a Kolaati. I got to meet him, speak with him and get my picture taken. Cool.

It gets better!!!! I got to meet Jeffrey Combs (Shran). Of course Jeffrey has played other roles, but Shran is my favorite. He was very funny, sweet, did a hilarious impression of Captain Kirk. He really made the entire experience very warm and intimate. My camera was running low on batteries when we went through the line, so the picture didn't turn out. A mere half an hour later, I saw him in the lobby and he, not only stopped for a picture, but put all his bags down, took off his glasses and allowed me to stand with him for the picture. Fantastic and very, very sweet.

NOW, FOR THE THRILL OF MY LIFE!!!! Oh, yeah!!! Connor Trinneer. As I type the butterflies are coming back. I am such a geek and I have such a crush. It didn't help that he is 10 times better looking in person and about a 100 times more charming than he gets to be in 42 minutes on an Enterprise episode! He did give us some scoops in the Q & A session. We got to talk to him for an hour. He said, 'you guys have GOT to see a bloopers reel sometime. It is hilarious what happens on set'. He also said that he believed everyone had been interviewed for the DVD coming out and he believed it would be in March. I think the "bloopers" comment alluded to some of those being on the DVD, as well. At least that was Connor's hope (if I am not reading too much into it.) Connor was very funny in the Q & A and has a great sense of humor. Someone asked if his wife was with him. He replied: 'Nooo! It's Thanksgiving for crying out loud! She’s with my family.' Of course he had a big smile on his face. He said that he and all his family went to his Grandma’s house on the Friday after Thanksgiving and he had to sit and be embarrassed watching the episode with them. He held true to the rumors on the set that Connor can be a bit klutzy at times. He was messing around with the microphone stand and got his thumb stuck in the hole. He literally had to put the mic under his arm and use his free hand to get loose. He was embarrassed which only made him more endearing. My favorite, though, was when someone asked what his ultimate episode would be on Enterprise. He replied: "Trip with lots of chicks (holding arms out wide), and being Captain, and shooting at things, and lots of stuff blowing up ..... that would be a two-parter'. Then he laughed. He also talked about a few scenes with Jolene and that they could be embarrassing, but his heart belonged to his new wife, no offense to Jolene. He watches his episodes with his wife and his family so he can keep up on the story lines and arcs, as well. He said it was embarrassing, but he enjoyed it.

WELL, now for the really juicy part: My one-on-one during the autograph session: I waited in line, impatiently. I remember thinking ' I have not been this nervous and excited since my wedding day!' My best friend, Charlotte went with me and had the camera ready. We were allowed a picture while in line and one while we got up to get the autograph, but none with Connor personally. DARN!! They asked if you wanted it personalized. I said, 'of course'. I stood in front of him and said, "Thank you so much for coming all the way to Indiana. I know that it isn't the vacation capital of the world." (He chuckled, friendly.) I said, "I am a member of the Enterprise Project. We are bugging the crap out of UPN for you." (He thanked me.) I said, "Well, you should know that you are my first...." (He looked up shocked and smiling...") I said, "My first convention," smiling. (He said, 'That isn't what I thought you were going to say’. He leaned back in his chair and smiled broadly, chuckling. You could see his mind working the way someone’s does when your brain tells you, ‘hmmm….. this may not be appropriate to just blurt out, but do it anyway…’ Then he laughed again and said, “Let ‘em know I popped your cherry!”) Well, I don’t have to tell you, you could have knocked me over with a feather!!!!!!!!! After I laughed and he laughed some more, I recovered. I shook his hand, my knees about buckled, then I thanked him again and told him, “By the way, I love the shirt!” (He laughed, leaned back in his chair, again, threw his arms wide and said, very friendly, “What is up with that?!?” ) I said, “I know, I don’t get it either, but that I loved all his shirts.” (I really don’t get why they are such a hot topic for fans???)

We walked away, clicked a few more pictures and moved on to meet Jeffrey. My friend Charlotte asked, “Can you believe he said that to you???” I replied, “Oh, good, you heard it too? I thought I was just fantasizing….. At least I have you as my witness.” So, whatever happens between now and death, I will always have my autograph, Connor’s gorgeous smile, knee-buckling charm, and his “cherry” comment. Life is good.

So, that is my experience. Long and drawn out as it may be to all of you, it was waayyyyyy too brief for me!! I have been in a fog of daily hum-drum ever since. My friend, Lissa from Denver informed me that it was called PCD (Post Convention Depression). I am hoping that the seasons fantastic episodes will pull me out of it. Of course, no one, not even Jeffrey, would fess up to any of the show’s secrets, so I have none to share.

Thanks for “listening” to my adventure. I knew of all the people in the world I could share it with you!!! Sunday, Starbase Indy Convention... Tomorrow GRAND SLAM!!!!!

Love ya!
